Forget About Piglet

You can’t bench KEITH.  It’s as simple as that.

In 2001, the New England Patriots re-signed All-Pro quarterback Drew Bledsoe to a $103 million contract.  Two games into the season, Bledsoe got injured, and the Patriots went with Tom Brady as the starter. The rest is history. The patriots stuck with Brady even when Bledsoe recovered, and Brady started a dynasty in New England.

Fast forward to the present: Team Liquid signs former world champion Piglet to be their new ADC.  Piglet has visa issues the opening weekend, and KEITH fills in for him. To everyone’s surprise, KEITH pulls out two respectable performances and Liquid starts the season 2-0.

If Liquid could go 2-0 with a sub, they’ll be unstoppable with their season 3 world champion, right?

Uh, not quite.

Unfortunately for both parties, Piglet doesn’t quite gel with the team. With high expectations coming into the split, Liquid is forced to make the decision to bench Piglet in favor of KEITH.

An injury and a behavioral benching are two completely different things, but Team Liquid should use the Patriots example when plotting their next move. The Patriots weren’t afraid to dump their multimillion dollar all-star for an unproven rookie that was performing well.

Not only is KEITH performing better than Piglet did, he’s letting his teammates shine.  With Piglet, the team would funnel all of their resources into getting him fed. If he couldn’t carry, they were screwed.  Under KEITH, resources are divided evenly amongst the team, and it’s paying off big time. Not only is KEITH posting great numbers, but Quas is solidifying himself as one of the best top laners in NA, and IWDominate is proving to be a force in the jungle.

With just six games until playoffs, it would be absolutely insane to disrupt a winning formula by benching KEITH.  Not only that, but Liquid needs to finally put their faith in KEITH as their full time starter. He’s 5-1, and has proven to be a better fit for the team than Piglet. On top of that, a 17 year old doesn’t need to think that one bad mistake will get him dropped.  So name him as a permanent starter, put him on your website, hell start selling toucan merch.

KEITH might not be the Tom Brady of League of Legends, but he can be Team Liquids’.  Liquid needs to come to terms with the fact the Piglet experiment didn’t work out, and fully commit to giving the ball, or mouse, to KEITH.
